BRANDS I'M LOVING FOR THE KIDS RIGHT NOW!

Tubby Todd

There’s a quote I’ve seen floating around the social media realms and it says something like…

“We can’t all look good. It’s either the house, the kids, or me.”

The boys are wearing the Lulu+Roo Americana collection romper, tank, and shorts!

In our case it’s always (always) the kids. Aside from the days that we don’t even bother to change out of our pjs, the kiddos can usually be found in one of my go to kids clothing brands with they’re little toes tucked into a buttery soft pair of moccasins, and you can bet 9 times out of 10 I pulled their perfectly crafted, slightly matching, outfits out of a clean basket of clothes that’s been sitting on our bedroom floor for 2 weeks, but it’s fine, we’re fine, we’re all fine.

So matching my cute kids in equally cute outfits is sorta my fav, and I’m often asked, “where did you get that romper?”, “where are his shoes from?”, or “where do you find matching outfits for your boys?”. Well, today I’m going to share our current (and long time) go to brands!

ps. if you tap each photo their outfit deets will pop up ;)

First up, my very VERY favorite kid (and now momma) company, and one I’ve been loving since before Finn was born, is Freshly Picked. You guys… their quality, their customer service, their platform - it’s hands down the best. Not to mention they have an awesome program for moms to save 20% on every single purchase, get free shipping, and exclusive access to sales…

The Fringe

Why we love them:

  1. Their elastic tops make it so easy to slip on chunky feet.

  2. They hold up! Like really hold up. Finn is now 3 and pretty rough on his moccs, but he can still wear their soft soles and get a good bit of use out of them before it’s time to size up!

  3. They’re utterly adorable and you have an endless amount of colors/designs to choose from.

Our go to color is Weathered Brown (Utah Collection). We have a pair in every size. It’s the perfect muted brown that goes with any and everything, and we’ve found the Utah Collection leather to be their softest!

Now let’s talk matchy matchy!

Lulu and Roo and Childhoods Clothing never let me down when it comes to getting the boys matching outfits. Plus, they both have top notch quality! I do like to stick to mostly neutrals when it comes to clothing for myself, so naturally I do the same for the kids. I’m just not a huge fan of characters or words on clothes, and I love that both Lulu and Roo and Childhoods Clothing keep it simple and clean with their designs! BUT the best part is that they offer different styles in many of the same colors. Meaning, I can get Hudson a romper in midnight blue and Finn shorts in the same midnight blue - this way they're matching, but also a little different. Someone actually suggested the idea to me last year… getting them the exact same outfits means that Hudson has the same clothes he’s already worn to grow into, so keeping it a little different means his hand-me-downs will be “new to him”.

Pancakes and PJs:

Almost what I named my blog, also what we spend most of our days eating and wearing.

Gap Christmas PJs

Gap Christmas PJs

I’m picky when it comes to pjs… I used to snag up the Carter’s clearance jammies, but quickly noticed the quality wasn’t my favorite. Finn was getting holes in the knees of the pants after 3 or 4 washes. Not cool. I’d say our go to pjs are probably Gap. They wash incredibly well and they have the cutest prints. Finn and Emma is another place I go to stock up on some matching pjs. I discovered their clothing line when Finn was a newborn. I might be biased but they have a great name, and their prints are just too fun!

Lastly, I’ll just add that you don’t have to spend a ton of money on small shop premium kid clothes to have cute matchy outfits or pjs. Two of my favorite places to shop are still Old Navy and Gap, AND you can go to their outlet stores to buy bags full of clothes for half the cost. So always look around! Also, look for kid clothing resale groups! I’m in a few on FB I’ll link below.
